Two long years.

November 14th, 2006

It has been over two years since I registered this domain. Over the two years of it’s existence my website has not changed much. The first content I added to the site was a couple of projects that I had completed while working on my engineering degree. As time went by, whenever I wrote a […]

Happy Birthday Dear M.G.

October 4th, 2006

Oct 2nd was the 137th birth anniversery of MK Gandhi, offical father to the Indian nation.
One of the most visited spots in Bangalore is named after Gandhi. “MG Road”. MG Road is a nice place to go to buy stuff (not necessarily “Swadeshi” stuff).
I’m not very sure at this point, if the “M” […]

July 22nd, 2006

They wanted to block 17 sites, so they blocked half the internet . The thing is, if ISP’s had blocked just the 17 sites on the list, I don’t think too many people would have taken notice. So perhaps it’s all for good - the way things are turning out.

While it’s trivial to proxy around the ban for now, this move from the government has higher implications. It will […]

Strange but true. . .

June 7th, 2006

According to my stats utility, a good 87% of the visitors to Alternate’s Reality (this site) use Firefox.

Somewhat strange, since w3schools browser statistics still indicate that more than 60% of the internet population still use ie.
Ofcourse, this might also mean that I’m visiting my own site waay to often :/ .

Steaming HOT Mumbai.

May 30th, 2006

Just jotting down a few things that I remember about my recent visit to Mumbai.
. . .
Ever notice that in a centrally cooled office, it’s always a bit warmer in areas where there are more people sitting? India is already a warm country. And there are 20 million Indians who live at Mumbai. No wonder, […]

WriteKa currently supports transliteration to Malayalam and Hindi.
Some great work by Kaimal !
