Thanks to the wxWidgets library, the latest release of Alternate’s ASCII Artist is capable of opening jpegs, gifs and png files in addition to the standard windows bitmap format.
This version includes a slightly modified plain-text conversion algorithm, which should improve the output clarity a bit. The color conversion algorithm is not yet complete.
