Happy Birthday Dear M.G.

Oct 2nd was the 137th birth anniversery of MK Gandhi, offical father to the Indian nation.

One of the most visited spots in Bangalore is named after Gandhi. “MG Road”. MG Road is a nice place to go to buy stuff (not necessarily “Swadeshi” stuff).

I’m not very sure at this point, if the “M” in MG stands for “Mohandas” or the title “Mahathma”. This is what happens in Bangalore, when places are named after people. JP Nagar, BTM layout being other examples (atleast, I think they were named after people).

Just a thought, I wonder if a time will come when people forget what the “G” in M.G. road stands for . . .
