They wanted to block 17 sites, so they blocked half the internet :D . The thing is, if ISP’s had blocked just the 17 sites on the list, I don’t think too many people would have taken notice. So perhaps it’s all for good - the way things are turning out.

Well, the blanket blogger ban has been lifted. The 17 sites (that we know of) that were on the blacklist remain blocked. /me begins to wonder how many other blacklists there have been in the past. And how long it will be before India has a content-based firewall, as China does.

Shivam Vij has posted an insightful article on the whole censorship drama thus far, at his blog. It’s definitely worth reading.
